Maidnes going two turns on the grass.
2. Hatheer: Debut was awesome and it took a horse would come back and run second in a msall state to run this Kieran McLaughlin runner down, and they always get better second time out. Should get an easier pace on the stretchout, last time she had a Linda Ricer on her ass the whole way. Favored in first start anyway, second outer, second McLaughlin outer, the only question mark is the two turns for the first time, but based on who she is and who her parents are can't imagine that's a major concern, bred to be a long one; the one post is not a liability here.
3. Mettled: Medaglia offspring sold for modest amount in July08 and ran modestly despite getting bet. She didnt come right back after that disaster and Maragh leaves. All signs are negative for return.
4. Itsmybirthday: Comes out of Hatheer race and seems unlikely to turn tables today.
5. Coquina Day: Third start for Donk but first on turf and first around two turns. Too many firsts, also first time Lezcano if you need a third for a strikeout.
6. Fugitive Angel: Graham Motion first time starter gets Leparoux. He has a good percentage with first time turf but I am a little confused as to how that breaks down as a first time starter on turf. Motion is not a trainer to be lightly dismissed and the toteboard doesn;t alway tell the tale with him.
7. Pearly Blue: My inclination is always to let the Motts run once and catch them second time out.
8. La Cloche: Ran poorly in dirt sprint opener.
1. Caminadora: Ran a very nice race and showed tremendous improvement on a sloppy track for Pletcher-Prado. Looks like she wanted grass last time and the race got taken off, so tday she could be moving onto surface she wanted last time; or could get a wet track again over which she ran very nicely. Either way I see improvement here.
9. The West Rim: First USA start for Clement, mare has produced several other offspring but none that did a lot.Nothing to throw her out on, and only start in Ireland was good. I think she caught a pretty tough group here.
1A. Dad's Crazy: Has now faded twice in a row, losing to 23-1 shot in last start. Am worried about the pace in this race since Hatheer is going to have to rate and yet coming off sprint to route, that may not be practical. I wish I had a closer to play but Caminadora doesnt fit the bill because she is coming from sprint also. The first time starters I would have trouble knowing which one to choose. The key is going to be Alan Garcia, at least Hatheer has a classic winning jockey and a good post if he can get this filly to relax. I am sticking with Hatheer as my single in the first leg of P4, but not without some serious worries about getting cooked on the lead.

nice of dads crazy to take back, saved both himself for the place pot, and my win bet on Hathair.
