"Now it's time to go, curtain's finally closing.
That was quite a show, very entertaining.
But it's over now.
Go on and take a bow,
Because it's over now...."
See you next year, Triple Crown! Will you finally go claimed?

Well, the American triple crown will go unclaimed, but the Canadian Triple Crown is coming up soon, and i really like Hotep.
He will get to see the queen witness his greatness in the Queen's Plate. ![]()

Now that this very dimly lit trail is over . . . it just goes to show, again, that once they're in the gate anyone can win. Winstar is drunk with excitement, of course, but they can't be so dumb as to think they have two budding superstars here. I think their reality check will come later, so let them bask in their fleeting moments of success. 2/3 of the Triple Crown won by . . . . the Walmart horse and a nutcracker. Amazing!

Yeah, because we all know how important that is. Wando, the 2003 winner, couldn't even be favored in the Indiana Derby.
What's more, many Queen's Plate winners don't even start in the Prince of Wales (see Awesome Again).
I'm much more interested to see if Champagne D'Oro can win the Coaching Club American Oaks.

It meant what it said. The Breeders' Cup has destroyed the racing calendar.

You know, you're right! The trainers with horses good enough (even some not so) work backwards from BC, don't they? A methodical year of less races to peak at the right time, they hope. This is the exact opposite from what John Gaines was trying to do when the BC first came about. Yes, I see it.
